No toddler adventure on the North Shore is complete without a visit to Maplewood Farm. This Farm is very early learner friendly and hosts a wonderful playground outside the farm along with family services found at the Thrive Centre. Stop by before or after saying hi to all the goats.

The Dog Mountain Trail is a short, easy hike from Mount Seymour that offers a spectacular view of Vancouver on a clear day. While the trail has minimal elevation gain and is only about 5km return, it should be noted that the path is a bit more technical, requiring careful steps along several sections that are covered with slippery tree roots.
A 5.5-km loop trail generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 1 h 47 min to complete. This is a popular trail for hiking, mountain biking, and running, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.

This is a very popular area for mountain biking, running, and walking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. The North Shore is known for it’s trail network and incredible opportunities to recreate outdoors. Our shop is the perfect place to stop before your hike, after a run on the wet trails or apres with a non alcoholic beer or cocktail after a bike ride. United Strangers is directly along the Mount Seymour Parkway Bike Path so we get many visits mid ride, or after their descent down Seymour Mountain for a warm drink and a snack.
If you pop in the car you can make your way up Berkley Road to Blueridge Park. This park is undergoing updating and is expected to be completed Summer 2023.
Within a 10 minute walk up Emerson Road you will find McCartney Creek Park, which features a small park with swings, with surrounding trails, creek and a baseball field.
The Blueridge Sharing Garden was established in 2015. They rent garden plots to neighbours and dedicate others for the group to grow vegetables for sharing with the community. Located between Carnation and Lytton Streets, across from Seymour Heights School. they have a Little Free Library on site, and an herb garden for neighbours to harvest small amounts of herbs.
The parks closest to the shop are Ron Andrews Park found right in front of the Ron Andrews Rec Centre. This park is great for toddlers because it is fenced in and near the forest. Fun Fact! Ron Andrews hosts indoor parent participation gym time for $2 on various days of the week and weekends. Check out the Rec Centres schedule for the most up to date times.
