We are Christine & Joe.

We live on the North Shore with our five-year-old daughter Edie and we have an infinite love for coffee that we cannot wait to share with you.

We have spent countless hours recreating and creating community on the North Shore in our past careers with the North Shore Mountain Bike Association and various roles in the cycling industry. Connecting great people with each other to create awesome things is what we think we are best in the world at and work to use our space on Mount Seymour Parkway to do.

We are here to stoke possibility!

We are here to stoke possibility!

The idea of owning and operating a coffee shop/corner store is wildly romanticized. It is not for the faint of heart. This business is tough and all consuming.

What makes our hearts the happiest is an authentic conversation over a great cup of coffee.

The folks that choose to work at United Strangers are all up to incredible things outside of serving the community within our four walls. They are advocates for mental health, information seekers, designers, developing new opportunities in the coffee industry, experts of taste profiles, Jujitsu Champions, wood workers and so much more! We love supporting them in their worlds outside of US. We look to do the same with our community, by supporting new producers, makers and idea creators.

The space at US is modular so that we can always be adapting to new learnings and ideas. We love connecting great people with each other because you never know who you are going to meet and who will be around to help support your next great idea or project.

You may come for a cup of coffee but we hope you leave with so much more.

The Northlands, B.C. Post Office was established - 20 April 1931 - it changed name to Seymour Heights Post Office - 9 January 1950 - which then became VANCOUVER - SEYMOUR HEIGHTS SUB Office - 26 October 1959 - closed - 2 July 1964.

The Seymour Heights Store as it stands now was built in 1972 and operated as a local corner store and grocery for many years. In the late 1990’s, the store was closed and sat vacant until 2020. The store was also commonly called “Faye’s” within the community
